A special mala made of fossil coral brightened with red jasper and brown snowflake jasper ends in a rudraksha guru bead, a silken tassel, and a dangling brass Om. Fossil coral is a natural gemstone formed when ancient coral formations are gradually replaced with agate, or chalcedony. Fossil coral is believed to quiet the thoughts and promote inner peace. Red Jasper is thought to stimulate the chi, or life force, and to foster physical strength, focus and determination. Brown Snowflake Jasper helps to eliminate negative energy, and it is said to dissolve sudden anger, fear or panic.
108 bead mala measures 34" l (not including tassel). Made in USA. 8mm beads.
Behind The "Mala"
Mala means “garland” in Sanskrit. Stretchy wrist malas are often worn as a reminder to practice mantra at all times. Stretchy wrist malas may vary in the number of beads but may still be used for mantra practice. Wearing a stretchy mala is especially convenient for a person who is ill and would like to recite mantra in bed; the stretchy wrist mala is always right there on their wrist. Many people wear stretchy malas as a reminder to be mindful.
