The Chod drum is a sacred Vajrayana ritual instrument used in the practice of Chod. "Chod" means to sever, or to cut off. Chod practice is a method for severing our attachment to our ego and self-cherishing.
Our high-quality Chod drums are handcrafted of Sengdeng (acacia) wood according to traditional methods to produce a rich sound. They come with a brocade tail and a finely crafted boiled wool carrying case. The interior or the drum is adorned with hand painted mantras and seed syllables.
Due to the handcrafted nature of this item, decorations on the drums and the cases, as well as the case color, and drum sizes, may vary.
