Amitabha (Amida) Buddha Statue
Amitabha (Amida) Buddha Statue
SKU: st353
This statue is the Japanese interpretation of Amitabha (Skt.) Buddha known as Amida Nyorai. It is very similar to the famous monumental statue of Amida Buddha in Kamakura, Japan.
Amitabha Buddha is the Buddha of Boundless Light. He presides over a celestial paradise called Sukhavati, or "realm of Bliss" which is understood in Buddhism to be a state of consciousness. The hands are held in the "Mida-no-join mudra," a meditation mudra or hand gesture which is specific to Amida Nyorai and is rarely seen in Buddhist statues outside Japan.
Made of bonded stone with bronze finish. 8 1/4" h

Amitabha made his way into our home last week. He was meticulously wrapped and protected upon arrival, and once he was placed on my wooden meditation altar table, his presence immediately lit up the room. This Amitabha representation is forged in beautiful craftsmanship and attention to detail.
Excellent Statute. It really brings a peaceful setting to your home altar. I would highly recommend it.
