This sturdy Large Yellow Five Dhyani Buddha Singing Bowl is hand-painted with the mantra "Om Mani Padme Hum" in Tibetan script along the side. The inner bottom of the bowl features a relief image of the 5 Dhyani Buddhas in a circle with a yellow patina effect.
The Tibetan mantra "Om Mani Padme Hum" translates roughly to "Praise the Jewel in the Lotus". It is believed to call upon the mercy of Avalokiteshvara, the Bodhisattva of compassion.
Each of the Five Dhyani Buddhas, or cosmic Buddhas, represents a different aspect of enlightenment.
The 5 Dhyani Buddhas are:
