This beautiful mala is strung from the seeds of the tropical lotus. In Korea they are called bodhi seeds. In China, they are called "moon and stars."
The lotus symbolizes spiritual growth and the ability to rise above and become enlightened.
The lotus rises from the dark, murky depths and blossoms into an unsoiled, radiant flower. It is a symbol of our True Nature.
Please note:Seed malas, like lotus seed and bodhi seed, expand and crack when they get wet. We recommend that you remove your mala before showering or swimming.
Behind The "Mala"
Mala means “garland” in Sanskrit. Stretchy wrist malas are often worn as a reminder to practice mantra at all times. Stretchy wrist malas may vary in the number of beads but may still be used for mantra practice. Wearing a stretchy mala is especially convenient for a person who is ill and would like to recite mantra in bed; the stretchy wrist mala is always right there on their wrist. Many people wear stretchy malas as a reminder to be mindful.
