Padmasambhava is a saint who was instrumental in spreading Buddhism in Tibet; a powerful apostle of tantrism in the spiritual lineage of Nyingmapa order said to be born out of a lotus flower. He was famous for his powerful exorcism abilities, subduing negative influences and evil spirits that harm bring to any beings and spiritual practitioners. He carries a tantric staff (khatvanga) surmounted with a trident in the fold of his left arm. His mantra is said to be able to dispel all negative forces and protect from all obstacles.
