Prayer Flags

Strands of tattered Tibetan prayer flags can be found all throughout the high Himalayan villages of Nepal, Tibet, Bhutan, China, and India. These Buddhist prayer flags come in a variety of symbolic colors and are printed with prayers, mantras, symbols, and wishes to be carried off by the mythical Wind Horse (Tibetan: Lung ta). Tibetan Buddhists believe that, as the wind blows, the blessings written on these colorful prayer banners are dispersed - spreading compassion, wisdom, and peace into the universe.
