This stunning classic Japanese-style chest will serve a variety of functions. Not only is it perfectly sized as a nightstand for a Japanese-style bed, it can also serve as a home altar with a large surface for devotional statues, candles, and other offerings.

Try it at the end of your bed, or place two tansu back-to-back to create a large coffee table with storage on both sides. A very practical piece of furniture, two (even three!) tansu may be stacked to create a bureau. Deep, spacious drawers slide easily, to store blankets, linens, and other large textiles.

Materials: Handcrafted of strong, sustainable, plantation-grown kiri wood with traditional hand-forged hardware and finished with a rich Teak stain.
