This stunning classic Japanese-style chest will serve a variety of functions. Not only is it perfectly sized as a nightstand for a Japanese-style bed, it can also serve as a home altar with a large surface for devotional statues, candles, and other offerings.

A very practical piece of furniture, two (even three!) tansu may be stacked to create a bureau. Deep, spacious drawers slide easily, to store blankets, linens, and other large textiles.
